Alexis Cramer and Aidan Bavard represented TA in grand fashion at Hillcrest Racquet Club. Aidan lost in the Final and Alexis won the tournament... Congratulations to both of them!! Deanna Lasorda lost in the Semifinals to Alexis making this her second successful tournament in a row!

Tennis is a sport characterized by repeated bursts of speed, rapid changes in direction, and powerful movements. The key building blocks to achieveing these characteristics include fast effortless footwork, full court agility, speed and power behind shots, and maintaining mental composure. "Tennis Specific" training maximizes each of these building blocks so you can compete at your highest level.

This is a 12 week program meeting Wednesdays from 4pm-5pm and Fridays from 4:30pm-5:30pm.

Kovacs Workshop

Dr. Mark Kovacs visited Tennis Addiction on Wednesday, November 30th for a one day workshop on Tennis Strength and Conditioning. Kovacs wrote the book on the subject for the USTA and remains the foremost presenter of the material. We are deeply indebted to him for squeezing us into his schedule and look forward to another visit. In the meantime he is helping us write individual workout plans for all of our students. This allows TA to put even more distance between them and other clubs when it comes to Junior Training Excellence!

New Junior Tennis Academy at TA

Tennis Addiction is pleased to announce a partnership between Anthony DeCecco and David DiLucia! Anthony's dream of having simply the best Junior Tennis Academy on the East Coast is one step closer to fruition as David DiLucia decides to join TA! They share a similar philosophy and passion for developing juniors not only as tennis players but as individuals. The new academy launches on December 4th but Dave is conducting coaches' workshops and both Anthony and Dave are inviting parents out to watch them in action!

Aileen Bavard Finalist at Granite Run

Aileen Bavard of Tennis Addiction won 3 matches to get to the final of the October Granite Run Open Tennis Tournament. She then narrowly lost to the top seed 6-3, 5-7 and 10-4 in a third set tiebreaker! Congratulations!!

Cougar Senior Night

The Downingtown East Girls Tennis Team celebrated their Senior Night by defeating Sun Valley 7-0! Good Luck to Rachel, Kelley, Cassie, Sandhya, Alex, Devon and Shawna!

Downingtown East Wins at Districts

The Downingtown East Cougar Girls Tennis Team beat North Penn today to advance to the Quarterfinals against Conestoga. Rachel Glikes lost a close match at 1st Singles, Kelley Weaver won an epic match at 2nd Singles 7-5 in the third set, Rachel Simmons won 6-1, 6-0, Cassie Yatcilla and Caroline Hall played their best match of the Season winning 6-2, 7-5, and Sandhya and Haley won 6-4, 6-2!! This marks the first time in Downingtown History that the girls tennis team has won a round at Districts! Onward!!

Baseball Icon Comes to TA!!

Tommy Lasorda, whose niece is Deanna Lasorda, stopped by for a visit to Tennis Addiction on Thursday, October 6th. He signed autographs and gave an impromptu talk on "Becoming a Champion"! Thank you, Tommy!

TA Open House Draws Over 100 People

Over 50 juniors and another 50 adults attended Tennis Addiction's Fall Open House on Sunday, September 11th. The kids played in FREE clinics and Anthony held an on court demo for parents previewing the New Junior Academy Program. Lunch was provided by Lasorda's Restaurant, Water Ice provided by Scooped and Dia Doce brought a cupcake truck with custom made treats for all who participated! Thanks to all for another successful event at TA!!

Join us this Sunday at 12 noon for an Open House to launch our Fall Junior Academy and meet the pro staff!! 2011 Cougar Classic

Downingtown East Girls Tennis Team won the 2011 Cougar Classic Tournament with 23 points. Harriton (State Champion) finished in a tie for second with Wyomissing (20 points each). Rustin came in 4th. Thanks to all who participated and congratulations to Kelley, Rachel, Rachel, Cassie, Caroline, Sandhya, Haly, Kayla, Colleen, Devon and Alex! Special congratulations to Rachel Simmons (3s), Haley and Sandhya (2d), Kayla and Colleen (3d), and Devon and Alex (4d) who all finished first in their flight! Go Cougars!!
