Camp will be outside at Downingtown East High School this Thursday, June 28. Morning players should be dropped off and picked up at the high school.  Full day players should be dropped off at the high and picked up at Tennis Addiction.  Elite will meet at Hickory Park. Wear your sunscreen!!

TA Opens Week 3 of Summer Camp with a Bang!

We had 40 kids participating in our TA Camp, 25 in our Middle School Camp and another 33 in our High School Camp... all in one day. Thank you to all of the parents who drove kids around and to the Girl's HS Team who helped teach the Middle School Camp! Our Junior team also beat Whitford CC to remain undefeated!

TA Enjoys Junior and Adult Success!!

As Wimbledon starts this week, TA enjoyed the most success in their 15 year history! With former touring pro David DiLucia at the helm and an exceptional staff in place, we have unprecedented results! Our 10-u team won the JTT League Championship on Saturday beating Radley Run in the final 16-12. We have two 12-u teams competing at Districts in July and our 14-u team is going straight to Sectionals! We have 3 camps running simultaneously this week... Our TA camp is from 9-4pm, our Middle School Camp goes from 12-3pm at Downingtown East HS, and our High School Camp is at TA from 5-8pm. 100+ juniors will be training at our camps on Monday!

Our 2.5 team (Captain Michelle O'Donnell) will play Riverside on Tuesday in a playoff to decide which team goes to Districts! Our 3.0 Team (Patty McManus and Terri Slowik captains) could possibly go 10-1 and come in second place! Our other 3.0 team (Tracey Yoegel) is right behind! A third 3.0 team (Anne Maxwell captain) will finish 3rd in an 11 team league. At 3,5 Dawn Harkins team finished 4th in their first year and Beth Varma's team won their local league and will move on to the District Championships!  A third 3.5 team with Georgina Texeira as captain finished on a 4 match winning streak! Trudi Short's 4.0 team won their last match 3-2 to advance to Districts and TA pro Celes Panichelli's 4.5 team is playing Districts as well! Jeff Salamon's 3.5 men's team is going to Districts after winning their league Championship!! Congratulations to all of our players and thank you to the captains!

TA Summer Camp Growing in Leaps and Bounds!

The 2012 Summer Camp under David DiLucia's direction is setting record numbers. We had 69 on Monday, 62 on Wednesday and 38 on Thursday, which was 100+ degrees! We have over 50 kids playing on 3 teams in 2 leagues and this is just the tip of the Iceberg! We are at 3 locations now, TA, Hickory Park, and Downingtown East High School using a total of 15 courts! We have 20+ kids in our 8-u program and too many to count in our 10-u program. Come see what everyone is talking about: a program designed by a former tour player and USTA National Coach that teaches fundamental tennis skills and life lessons!

It is our privilege to introduce former touring pro and USTA National Coach David DiLucia(center, kneeling) as Director of Tennis Addiction's Junior Tennis Academy. Almost 60 juniors attended the first week of camp and experienced something never before seen this far north! If you'd like your child to experience world class instruction from one of the top coaches in the United States, sign up now. 
David has signed on as a partner in Tennis Addiction and has plans to build a tennis complex to rival anything in Florida or California. His goal is to bring top notch coaching to the East Coast and to get back to his roots! If you haven't seen him in action, you are missing something magical. In addition he is a director at CITRS, a youth leadership initiative, and has implemented the program at TA. So if you would like your child to learn the game of tennis and life lessons at the same time, this program is for you!
Not only is he writing the curriculum but he is training the staff at TA. Our program includes Fundamental Instruction and Match Play... we have 3 Summer Teams and Tennis Addiction is competing in Districts at the 10-u, 12-u, 14-u, and 18-u levels in July 2012.              Camphill Pro/Am is a Huge Success!!

Tennis Addiction teamed with Camphill Special School to raise more than $150k over the weekend at a 2 day event. Friday night 400+ people attended the Dinner/Dance and a record amount was raised auctioning off the tennis teams! On Saturday more than 100 people attended the tennis tournament... former touring pro David DiLucia won the tournament with partner Teresa Otterbein! The kids from Camphill played tennis and ate cupcakes and had a great time!
